FAQs
What services does Heart of Gold Nursing provide?
Heart of Gold Nursing in the Coachella Valley area offers boutique home care, private duty nursing, and geriatric care management. Our services are personalized to support aging adults with dignity, safety, and compassion — whether it’s help at home, post-operative recovery, or long-term support.
What’s the difference between home care and home health?
Home care provides non-medical support like bathing, meal prep, companionship, and safety supervision. Home care does not require and order and is most often, private pay and not covered by health insurance. Home health is medical and prescribed by a doctor, such as wound care or physical therapy. This requires an order and covered by insurance. We specialize in private home care, but partner with home health when needed.
Do you offer 24-hour care?
Yes. We offer 24-hour hourly care. We do not provide live-in caregivers.
Do you provide live-in caregivers?
In the state of California, true “live-in” care — where a caregiver resides in the home and is available around the clock for a flat daily rate — is heavily regulated and not typically supported under labor laws.
To remain compliant with California labor standards (including required meal breaks, rest periods, and overtime pay), Heart of Gold Nursing does not offer traditional live-in care. Instead, we provide 24-hour hourly care using carefully scheduled shifts to ensure caregivers are alert, rested, and fully available during their assigned hours.
This approach prioritizes both caregiver well-being and client safety — so your loved one always receives high-quality, attentive care without compromise.
Is Heart of Gold Nursing a private pay agency?
Yes. All of our services are private pay. We are not covered by Medicare or Medi-Cal. Some long-term care insurance plans may reimburse for our services — we can assist with that process.
